Making a statement! Formula 1 fan Sergio Aguero dons custom Man City race suit at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has been showing his support for his former club as he takes in the action at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
WHAT HAPPENED ?
Aguero, a devotee of Formula One, was sighted at the 2023 season’s last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi. The former striker attracted attention by turning heads with his specially made race suit with a Manchester City motif. He will undoubtedly be watching his team’s crucial Premier League match this weekend at the Etihad Stadium against Liverpool.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
On Saturday, City and Liverpool will play in a pivotal match at the top of the English Premier League table. Leading the standings but behind the Reds by just one point going into the game is Pep Guardiola’s team. The reigning champions’ chances of winning the championship would be greatly increased by a victory, but Liverpool would pass their opponents and take the top spot if they won on the road.
DID YOU KNOW?
In addition to being the top two scorers in the Premier League this year (minimum 500 minutes played), Erling Haaland and Mo Salah also have the best minutes per goal ratio. With 79 minutes on average for each goal, the City forward trails Salah, who averages 105 minutes.
WHAT NEXT FOR MANCHESTER CITY ?
Following their match against Liverpool, City’s focus will return to the Champions League. The European champions have already guaranteed their spot in the round of 16, but they still have to play RB Leipzig in their group’s last group match on Tuesday before playing Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
