Barcelona aims to include the star of Morocco
A Spanish press report revealed that the Barcelona administration admired the Moroccan star Ezzedine Onahi, after his brilliance with the Atlas Lions in the World Cup in Qatar.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Barcelona is looking for a distinguished player in the midfield, and the main targets were Bernardo Silva and Gandogan, the Manchester City duo, but in light of the financial crisis, it will be difficult to sign either of them.
She added, “Barcelona will try to find a more exciting alternative, which is Azzedine Onahi, one of the most pleasant surprises in the World Cup, which impressed Luis Enrique after Morocco excluded Spain from the World Cup final price.”
“Mundo Deportivo” indicated that the Ezzedine Onahi deal will be low-cost for Barcelona, and the problem will not be in the value of the deal, but rather the salary that the French player of Angers will demand.
Onahi starred in the Angers shirt, and helped the team to stay in the French League, which prompted the club’s management to renew his contract 3 months before the start of the World Cup, as his new contract expires in the summer of 2026.
Angers did not put any penalty clause in his contract, according to the renewal statement, but the current market value of the player is estimated at 4 million euros, and after his brilliance in the World Cup, the value will undoubtedly increase.
