Does Laporta’s plan postpone Messi’s return to Barcelona?
The Spanish media continues to reveal the scenes of the meeting that brought together Barcelona president Juan Laporta and Jorge Messi, the father and agent of Messi.
The newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” said that the plan preferred by Laporta to honor Messi coincides with the 2024-2025 season, when the team returns again to the Camp Nou stadium after the completion of its development work.
The return of Barca to its stronghold also coincides with the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Catalan club.
The newspaper pointed out that those close to Messi refused to comment on the meeting that brought together his father and the president of Barca.
It noted that the Paris Saint-Germain administration and club president Nasser Al-Khulaifi are in the process of negotiating again with Messi to renew his contract after the Bayern Munich match in the Champions League.
PSG lost the first leg at home with a goal, and will visit Bavarian on March 8.
Messi’s contract with Paris expires at the end of the current season, with the possibility of extending it for an additional season until the summer of 2024, subject to the approval of the Argentine star.
