Manchester United vs Bayern Munich: How to watch live, team news, Streaming TV Channel

manchester united vs bayer tv channel

Manchester United play Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League group stage finale on Tuesday, and Erik ten Hag’s side’s equation is simple: win and they could make the last 16.

Aside from Bayern clinching first place, Group A has been a shambles, with all of United, Galatasaray, and Copenhagen still in with a possibility of making the last 16. If United defeats Bayern, they will also need Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw in the other Group A finale to go to the last 16.

So it might happen, but first United must defeat German powerhouse Bayern Munich. United will be hoping that Bayern rests several key players, especially following their 5-1 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, but whoever lines up for Thomas Tuchel’s side will have plenty of skill and will punish any mistakes.

Speaking of mistakes, United has been guilty of making several of them at crucial moments throughout this UEFA Champions League group stage campaign, as they have coughed up leads and been their own worst enemies, with defeats against Galatasaray and Copenhagen, as well as a draw against the former last time out, all of which could have been avoided. If United want to reach the final 16, players like Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, and Bruno Fernandes must stand tall and deliver through the team’s spine.

Manchester United news and updates

The work of Erik ten Hag United have been infuriatingly inconsistent this season, following up a great win against Chelsea with a home loss to Bournemouth. Injuries have been a worry, but this United team has enough talent to be in a far stronger position coming into the final group stage game. Still, they must aim for the win, and Erik ten Hag should have a strong attacking squad from the outset. United essentially has nothing to lose, and this is a significant week for the club, as they also play in the Premier League on Sunday against Liverpool.

OUT: Casemiro (ankle), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Christian Eriksen (knee), Tyrell Malacia (undisclosed), Jadon Sancho (disciplinary – club), Amad Diallo (ineligible as not registered for UCL group stage), Jonny Evans (thigh), Mason Mount (calf).

Bayern Munich highlights and team news

Tuchel, as previously stated, will be smarting from Bayern’s thrashing at Frankfurt over the weekend, and even if Bayern don’t need anything from their trip to Old Trafford, would they still send out the big guns? Tuchel may elect to rest players like Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sane, and Dayot Upamecano for this game, but he may also decide that a strong win versus United is more important to get Bayern rolling and build some momentum before the Bundesliga’s Christmas break.

Serge Gnabry (groin), Matthijs de Ligt (knee), Bouna Sarr (knee, ACL), and Sven Ulreich (ankle) are all out.
