Valverde .. Ancelotti’s cannon is ready for the Clasico
Real Madrid will host Barcelona in the Clasico next Thursday, in the first leg of the King’s Cup semi-final.
El merengue wants to avenge the loss of the Spanish Super Cup against Barca (3-1) last January in Saudi Arabia.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti relies on Uruguayan Federico Valverde, the man of big dates, who has tremendous physical strength, enabling him to be everywhere on the right side.
While he mainly works to create opportunities for Vinicius and Benzema, he also falls back to provide defensive duties, and then moves quickly in counter-attacks.
Fedi’s level has developed a lot in the offensive part, and he has a prominent weapon, which is shooting from long distances, as happened in the Clasico, the first round of the league this season.
Valverde’s impressive offensive development prompted Ancelotti to announce a major challenge, saying that “if (Fede) does not score 10 goals this season, I will retire from coaching.”
Federico played 37 matches in all competitions with Real Madrid this season, during which he scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists.
Valverde has always been the man of Ancelotti’s big dates, scoring against Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Seville in the Spanish League.
He also scored in the decisive matches in the Club World Cup against Al-Ahly of Egypt and Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the final, and scored a goal in the difficult victory over Leipzig in the Champions League.
Valverde has previously played 12 matches in all competitions against Barcelona, during which he won 6 victories, compared to 5 defeats and one draw, and scored 3 goals.
The Uruguayan’s goals came against the Catalan team in winning (3-1) the Liga season (2020-2021), and winning (3-1) this season in the league, and he also scored in winning (3-2) the Spanish Super Cup (2021-2022).
